Today is Ladies Bible Study this morning, so there will be no business in the kitchen today, but I will post what was cooked on September 11th, 2012. For the first time, I made BarBeQued Ribs that were actually really like the ribs you could buy. I was so pleased with how these turned out. I had no recipe, so please bear with me as I go through these instructions with you.
Honey BBQ Ribs
I started the ribs, which were frozen, in the crockpot in some chicken broth on high - when they were thawed enough, I took them out and cut them up - this was a rack. I cooked them on high from 10 am - 3 pm and then at 3pm I added hot water to cover the meat to keep it moist. I turned them off around 4 pm and let them cool down - put them in the fridge for overnight about 8 pm. Next morning, about 9 am, I took them out of the fridge, scooped off the fat, and turned them back on high. About noon, I turned them down on low until about 4 pm. I then took them out and put them on papertowel to soak the liquid and a layer of papertowel on top
Next, I prepared the pan by pouring Honey BBQ sauce from a bottle , Kraft or whatever kind you like, on the bottom of the pan so the underside of the ribs would be sauces as well. I then placed a layer of ribs tightly in a row and then I poured some sauce on top of the ribs and brushed the BBQ sauce over them to make it more even.. Then I layered the rest of the ribs and brushed them with sauce also. I used a little over a bottle of sauce, but I did have a little too much, so judge for yourself how much you would like on your ribs.
Next, I popped them, uncovered, into an heated oven of 400 degrees F, turned it back to 350 degrees F, and left for about 20 minutes, and then turned the oven to 450 degrees F for another 20 minutes and voila - take out of oven and let rest for 10 minutes!!!
Close up of the finished ribs!!
My pan of ribs resting.
Can't wait to make these again!
Enjoy!!! Sorry folks - had company for lunch yesterday as you know, and the leftovers were used up!
Have a great day!!!
